What level is right for me?

The guide below will help you decide which class is most suitable for you.  If you are a new student to classes with Julie or unsure which level to choose please get in touch.

Beginner

For new students or those with some months of practice wishing to polish the basics.  These classes will be tailored to suit all levels in the room working towards understanding basic alignment and the use of props in asana (postures).

General

For students familiar with the method of Iyengar Yoga who have had a regular practice for 1 year or more.  These classes will be focussed on delving deeper into the basics and working towards some more challenging asanas.

Intermediate

For experienced students, trainees and teachers with at least 2 years of dedicated practice in the Iyengar method.  Students should have a good understanding of the basics and be able to maintain a 5 minute, stable, Sirsasana and Salamba Sarvangasana. 

6 week Introductory courses

These courses are offered several times throughout the year both face to face and online and are for complete beginners.  All are welcome, a commitment to attend the full course is greatly appreciated.

Online classes are different to face to face sessions.  You need to take a lot more responsibility for your own safety and wellbeing.  It is important to set up your space so that you can see and hear the teacher well and that she can see you too.  When participating in this yoga class there is the possibility of sustaining a physical injury. If you engage in this class, you agree that you do so at your own risk, are voluntarily participating in these activities and assume all risk of injury to yourself.  If you are suffering from illness or Injury you should consult your doctor before attending any classes.

All except the Intermediate Tuesdays are mixed level classes.  Beginners and seasoned practitioners are most welcome.
